Our Slow Family Escape to the Mountains

We spent a few slow, beautiful days at Piaule in the Catskills and completely fell for its peaceful rhythm.

Tucked into the forest, each cabin feels like a modern treehouse with clean lines, warm wood, and huge glass windows that bring the outside in. Waking up as a family to the mist rolling through the trees was something special.

We swam in the open-front pool, relaxed in the spa (which is as calming and quiet as it looks), and took long walks between the cabins and the main lodge, always ending up at the restaurant for something delicious. The food was thoughtful and seasonal, but still easygoing, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder.

It’s not easy to find places that feel grown-up and beautifully designed while also being relaxed enough to enjoy as a family. Piaule got the balance just right. We left feeling rested, reconnected, and already planning our next visit.
